Very helpful with new home owners, responds to questions and concerns promptly, staff genuinely want to help Only negative is having to pay lot fee with mailed checks instead of online, but you can pay multiple months at once so it's not a problem

If I could provide these folks with a 0 rating I would. I just had a telephone call with these people, and their attitude, conduct, and arrogance was horrible. I am a first time home buyer, with some questions and I was provided with no answers, no help, or no support at all. I spoke with a lady and a man, and they were both disrespectful, unhelpful, and had terrible attitudes. Do you really think someone would pay $65,000 for a home where they are going to receive little help. I was told they cannot tell me nothing about lending or how to get a home. I think that answer was a terrible answer. How do these two rude people have a job? I'm a potential Customer and I should not have to be treated in such a way. I asked the man, why would I want to do business with you? Your not helping me at all. All he kept telling me was to go to a bank. That was rude, and disrespectful to me. I would avoid these people if you want a home, these are not the people to do it. They are rude! If I had a business and I had a Customer asking me a question. I would not display this rude conduct was horrible. They had no joy and compassion in their voice. Buying a house is such a big deal! I'm in search of someone who can give a damn about the process, and work with me through it. I have a full time job, and don't have time to run around to each bank. Oh Lord, I made another mistake calling these people. What a shame!

I love Chip and Adam. They are amazing and trustworthy people. They stand by there homes and are friends for life. I bought my home in 2006 and still happy. Would buy from them again in a second.

I believe they keep low income disabled people out based on their application process. Not everyone who becomes disabled has good credit especially if the disability is due to your job and you have been denied workers comp. It's no wonder there are over 400 people homeless in Tompkins County.

Hillside Acres is a nice place to live. However JRH office staff have a disdainful, patronizing attitude towards residents reflected in the scolding tone of the monthly newsletter. One month they hit me with a $15 late fee (they describe it as loss of 'prompt pay rent discount'). The check had arrived in their office on time, but 25 cents short due to a Star Program discount adjustment I hadn't noticed. For being 25 cents short they sent me a separate letter to collect the $15 late fee. Don't expect any friendly gestures from these folks. A shame that good relations with their residents isn't more important to them.
