an hour ago If I could give negative stars I would. I am a Florida realtor & I picked up my client & her little dog & travelled 2 hrs to tour units @ Dunnellon Square. My 69 yr old client & myself started showings @12pm & toured 5 units throughout the day. (3 by owner, 2 by agent) When we arrived, we went to the office first in which the managers hours were posted, yet office was locked & no one was available. We toured the first 2 units & went back to the office but once again manager was not there & a lady on the street said the manager was busy fixing his truck. We called the agent w/ the 2 listings, toured them, & made way to the last unit. 5 hrs of touring mobile homes & meeting wonderful members of the community, my client decided she would like to purchase and I was interested as well. We contacted the unit owners & let them know of our interest & receive the mgr, Gary Johnson’s info in which he hesitantly agrees to open the office & get us the applications. Upon entering, prior to my client, I say “Hello Gary, I am Hannah the realtor who’s been in contact over the last few weeks & my client & I would both like applications. What a great day, 2 cash deals in one day!” I went to have a seat in one of the 2 chairs & he aggressively yells - “don’t sit there that’s my cats chair! “😳 I switch to the other chair as my client comes in & unknowingly sits in the “cats chair” & Gary looks extremely aggravated. He then rudely looks at my client & myself & says “not only are you required to pass a criminal, background check but there are also income restrictions” Implying our finances were not up to par. My client & I both state to him, finances were not a problem. I ask at this point if I can remove my mask as it is very warm in the office & at appropriate social distancing when he sees my face & screams “How old are you?” I reply w/ 39 but my husband is 58. He then asks if I have children & I reply I have an older teenager that would not frequent much & also tell him, my husband & I are only looking for a weekend getaway as we live in the city. He angrily states, I’m not allowed in the park as I need to be 50 years old. I tell him I’m very aware of the rules and regulations that govern 55 & over communities & am aware of the 20% variance allowed per state. (Florida regulation states as long as 80% of the homes owners are 55 and older, up to 20% can be under 55 including the occupants) He then rudely accepts a phone call in our presence, obviously to regroup as he was not expecting my informed response. When he gets off the phone, I ask for him to contact the owner as I am willing to pay the lot rent in full for the year with the purchase & that we will be seasonal/weekend residence at most. He agrees to contact the owner then hastily changes his mind. I ask if he would then let me contact them & he refuses & yells “you’re not welcome here.” Shocked at this grown mans terrible customer service & bad behavior I stand up to leave. As I stand, I turn to him & state that my client would still like the application & he refuses. He then screams at her “That’s your daughter, she’s a problem and you’re not welcome here if she’s w/ you.” Mind you, I’m not her daughter, I’m her realtor & we are now being accosted by this angry old man. As a professional and owner of 2 successful businesses, I let him know I will be reporting his illegal business practices as he is screaming in my face “you’re still talking, you’re still talking”. I confirm again to him, yes, I will continue to talk and we will be filling complaints w/ the state of Florida. After the incident, we contacted the owners of the units in which stated this is not his first episode. Gary has cost them several deals thus far and overreacting is his modus operandi. I am in hopes of writing this review, the new owners of Dunnellon Square Park realize the issues their mgmt is causing for their residences & course correct as Gary no longer needs to be in public or any customer service position.
